- When should I restring my tennis racquet?
Babolat invented Tennis String in 1875. Today, string is considered the “engine” of the racquet. Did you know that string is responsible for about half of the performance of your frame? Therefore, the choice of string is essential. It optimizes your performance and may minimize your injury risk. There are several types of string that correspond to certain needs, and we will help you to understand the options. All the strings presented below are made in France.

Are you looking for a string that provides you with comfort?
We provide comfort by using flexible strings that absorb unwanted vibrations caused by the impact of the ball. Our multifilaments such as Xalt, Xcel, and AddiXion, and our natural gut Touch VS are ideal for developing players as they are also durable. They can be used in a hybrid setup or be replaced by RPM Soft for more experienced players looking for a softer feel in their racquet.
A thinner gauge and/or a lower tension can equally help you increase comfort, while a thicker gauge will make your string more durable.

Are you looking for a string that enhances feel at ball impact?
Have you tried the best string in the world? Touch VS natural gut provides the ultimate experience with its unparalleled elasticity, optimizing the contact time of a hit. This string is also powerful and holds tension well. It is ideal in a hybrid setup, a combination favored by professional players! Xcel string is also an excellent alternative in our line of multifilaments.
A thinner gauge and/or a lower tension can equally help you increase comfort, while a thicker gauge will make your string more durable.

Do you want the same spin as Rafa? Or do you wish to have more control?
Spin is characterized by the number of rotations per minute of the ball (RPM). Like Rafa or Carlos, you will find your best spin in our extensive RPM line. Whether you want more spin (RPM Rough) or more control (RPM Blast), these types of durable strings are ideal for the expert players who hit hard and break their strings often.
We recommend this type of string for competitive players older than 13, and in a hybrid for the juniors transitioning between 12 and 14 years old.
For juniors looking for the most flexible monofilament of the line, we have created the RPM Soft. This allows them to follow in the footsteps of their favorite pro players! It can also be used in a hybrid setup to provide more comfort.
A thicker gauge and/or a higher tension can equally help you gain control and/or spin but also durability.

Are you looking for a string that brings power to your game?
For developing players, we recommend multifilament strings or our Natural Gut.
If you consider yourself an expert who prefers a string from the RPM family, then RPM Power is made for you. Another option is to use a multifilament or Touch VS in a hybrid setup.
A thinner gauge and/or a lower tension can equally help you increase power.

When should I restring my tennis racquet?
Did you know that pro players change their tension depending on the tournament, temperature, or the season? To maintain a good level of performance, we recommend restringing once every three months to avoid a big drop in tension or a big impact from the changing of the season or temperature.
